Process
A major contribution to this production was figuring out how to execute the “breeze block” scenic elements as drawn by the scenic designer. Through exploration with the in-house carpenter team, we settled on a process where the full 6" thickness of each element was divided in half. A solid layer of bead foam cut to size by an outside vendor was adhered to a layer of RevolutionPly, then run through the CNC router using the multi-tool changer to cut through the combination of materials. The two halves were then glued together and wrapped in ½ ply for rigidity, painted the signature orange of the production, and installed onstage.
